Wifi chip co Celeno in Shanghai Telecom deal

WiFi semiconductor developer Celano Communications Inc. will provide Chinese telecommunications provider FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co. Ltd. Wi-Fi system-on-a-chip for optical network gateways for IPTV streaming. The two companies are collaborating on China Telecom’s expansion of its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network. China Telecom unit Shanghai Telecom selected FiberHome’s optical gateway for FTTH deployments, providing fast broadband access capability and triple-play (data, voice and HD IPTV) services. Financially, the deal is important for Celeno. AT&T to open overseas innovation center in Ra’anana

AT&T plans to open three innovation centers – which will enable startups and innovators to work together on product development and problem-solving – this year. Amdocs selects SAP to replace its systems

In a deal worth at least $50 million, Israeli software giant Amdocs has selected SAP to replace its information systems with new ones, Calcalist reported Monday. Amdoc’s systems, which serve numerous cellular operators around the world – including AT&T, Vodafone, Comcast and Sprint Nextel – will be replaced over the next three years. The company’s core, resource management, project management, business intelligence, budget management, human resources and acquisitions systems will all be replaced. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3922076,00.html

VoIP co VocalTec wins Junto deal in Brazil

VocalTec Communications Ltd.  will provide VoIP products to Brazilian carrier Junto Telecom for the evolution of its Class-5 and IP-Centrex VoIP network. Junto Telecom will replace its current telephony solution with VocalTec’s Essentra family of products, including the Essentra BAX VoIP Application Server to provide advanced enterprise IP telephony services.
