HTC taps Israeli technology for its iPad-slayer

The Kfar Sava-based startup N-trig will provide the touch-screen technology for the tablet computer that Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is developing as direct competition for Apple’s iPad. Tel Aviv University develops tool for non-destructive x-ray scanning of archaeological finds

By adapting an off-the-shelf portable x-ray lab tool that analyzes the composition of chemicals, Prof. Yuval Goren of Tel Aviv University‘s Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations can reveal hidden information about a tablet’s composition without damaging the precious ancient find itself. 3D digital printer co Solido3D raises up to $8.5m

Fortissimo Capital is back in the digital printing business, with an invest of $6-8.5 million Solido3D Ltd., which has developed the world’s first 3D desktop digital printer. The deal comes three years after Fortissimo sold Nur Macroprinters to Hewlett Packard Co.  for $117.5 million. The investment will make Fortissimo Capital Solido3D’s largest shareholder, alongside Argoquest founded by CEO Jason Barzilay. Rosh Ha’Ayin-based Solido3D was founded in 2000. The company’s 3D printer creates a complete product built from CAD software and plastic PVC molds.
