HTC taps Israeli technology for its iPad-slayer

The Kfar Sava-based startup N-trig will provide the touch-screen technology for the tablet computer that Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is developing as direct competition for Apple’s iPad. Wifi chip co Celeno in Shanghai Telecom deal

WiFi semiconductor developer Celano Communications Inc. will provide Chinese telecommunications provider FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co. Ltd. Wi-Fi system-on-a-chip for optical network gateways for IPTV streaming. The two companies are collaborating on China Telecom’s expansion of its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network. China Telecom unit Shanghai Telecom selected FiberHome’s optical gateway for FTTH deployments, providing fast broadband access capability and triple-play (data, voice and HD IPTV) services. Financially, the deal is important for Celeno. Israeli businesses look East to offset weak Western mark

Israeli businesses are showing a strong interest in technology investment opportunities in Hong Kong and mainland China to expand trade, as export markets in Europe and the US weaken. InvestHK is the department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) responsible for foreign direct investment. The department helps overseas, mainland and Taiwanese businesses set up and expand in Hong Kong. Solar integrator G Systems to buy Chinese PV panels

Israel’s G Systems Ltd. will buy $15 million worth of photovoltaic panel manufacturer from China’s ET Solar Group Ltd. for installation in small and mid-sized solar energy facilities in Israel. The panels will generate 7.5 megawatts of electricity altogether. G Systems’ orders backlog for small and mid-sized solar energy of facilities amounts to 10 megawatts.
