Sensitive information on county laptops and other portable devices will be protected with leading Check Point encryption technologies.

Technologies Ltd., the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced Los Angeles County, the largest county in the nation, selected Check Point data security solutions to encrypt and fully secure data residing on all laptops and other portable devices across 38 county departments.

With the theft of PCs on the rise and an increasingly mobile workforce, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors recognized the need to protect information residing on county departments’ laptops, other portable computing devices and removable media.

David Vergara, product marketing director of data security at Check Point, commented: “We’re very pleased L.A. County selected Check Point products as part of its county-wide endpoint encryption solution. We’ve seen a growing number of counties and municipalities that recognize the importance of securing sensitive customer and employee data to steer clear of public data breaches and meet strict compliance requirements.”
