Six Israeli start-ups among Gartner "Cool Vendors"
Six Israeli start-ups are among the Gartner Group's "Cool Vendors" list for 2008. The award is important for small companies with advanced technology by giving them exposure. Gartner Group selected the winners after the consultant's analysts met the companies and mapped their ideas and a selection committee picked the winners. Gartner Group covered 172 companies in 41 reports on different sectors.

Israeli high-tech companies generally gear most of their efforts towards the US, which has paid off for most start-ups in terms of cooperative ventures and exits. Europe has never been considered a major target. Israelis are not the only ones to think that the world is managed by the US and the Far East.

IMF sees Israel's growth rate above US and Europe
The IMF predicts that Israel will have a significantly higher growth rate than most European and North American countries, but far less than several other countries in the region. The prediction appears in the semiannual IMF global growth forecast, published today in Washington. The IMF has included Israel in its group of advanced economies for years.

They say of him that he's industrious, brilliant, knows exactly what he wants (and how to get it), and doesn't take no for an answer. They also say however that he throws his weight around, and that he's a centralist and an empire builder.
