TheMarker - The market for cosmetic lasers is a rough and tumble one, as Israeli company Lumenis knows well. The company sells machinery based on lasers and pulsed light to treat a range of cosmetic and medical conditions. In May, Lumenis launched the Lumenis One, which it claims to be the most advanced aesthetic laser platform in town. The company combines several technologies in a single device, offering skin rejuvenation using light pulses or depilation by laser. On Sunday the company finally revealed sales figures for the Lumenis One. It has sold 150 units, almost all in the United States, for about $150,000 each. Sources near the company say that since its launch, the Lumenis One has contributed $22 million revenue, and that demand is expected to remain at the current level. That translates into roughly 20 sales a month, or $36 million a year. Lumenis is still spending heavily on R&D, though: $10 million in the first nine months of 2004
